I started making “Message Magnets” in 1995 when we first got a computer with a hard drive. (Our first computer is now in the Smithsonian) It was a way to learn how to use the computer and do something fun. The first pictures were in .pcx format and in black and white. I hand colored the pictures. When we got our first color printer I still had the designs in black and white. So, I learned how to use an early drawing program that I could color the pictures pix by pix. Rather tedious but still fun (at the time). Two of my designs still use those pictures. Anyhow, the message has become more important now than the technique and I’ve learned a lot more about computers.
I’ve collected many expressions and many people have shared their favorites with me.
The magnets are 2 ½ inches by 3 ½ inches. enclosed in ¼ inch thick heavy acrylic plastic holder.
I hope you enjoy them, have a few laughs and consider the “serious” ones.
