Chain Maille is an ancient craft originating with the knight's clothing. However, nowadays, you will find it in beautiful Chain Maille jewelry; Right here! <grin> Chain Maille is made one ring at a time. (I liken it to knitting one stitch at a time.) Each pattern or weave requires different sized rings. The gauge or thickness of the wire ranges from 14 gauge (heavy) to 22 gauge (thin). Another important measure is the inside diameter (ID). Some patterns can be made in different sizes and come out looking very different. The rings I use are either Sterling Silver (92.5% silver) or Argentium Sterling Silver (92.5% silver plus Germanium) The advantage of Argentium Silver is its slowness to tarnish. For most people, tarnishing is one reason they do not buy silver. Click here for more information on Argentium Silver.
Some of my stock items are Sterling Silver (indicated in the description) but if you prefer to have a piece in Argentium Silver just let me know. (It may take a bit longer but I'll advise ship time right away) Some items are already made in Argentium Silver and that is also noted in the description. Eventually all my silver pieces will be made with Argentium Silver.
